Tourist development
The path of Theodor Christomannos' first to climb in June 1892 led from our wife in Schnalstal to Niederjoch and up to Similaun . The hike continued to the eastern Marzellspitze and the Hinteren Schwärze , the group reached the Rötenspitze and on to the Fanatspitze via the Roßbergjoch and the west ridge . After crossing the Karlesspitze and the Falschunggspitze , the group failed because of a weather change and the onset of darkness on the Hohe Wilden . After more than 20 hours they reached the Eishof in the Pfossental . Today the Martin-Busch-Hütte can serve as a base for climbing the Rötenspitze. The normal route , the easiest ascent, leads from the west over the Pfasserscharte over the ridge with the difficulty UIAA II to the summit. A route through the 50 ° inclined northern ice wall with an altitude of 200 meters was first described in 1978.
