The Rabnitz , in Hungarian Répce (on the lower reaches of Rábca ), is a river in Austria and Hungary .

The Rabnitz arises in the district of Blumau ( Hollenthon municipality ) in Buckligen Welt ( Lower Austria ) from the Spratzbach and Thalbach streams .
It flows through central Burgenland , it is also the namesake of the villages of Unterrabnitz and Oberrabnitz . Also Manner der Rabnitz is named after her. The most important feeder is the Stooberbach , which flows into Strebersdorf . At Lutzmannsburg , the Rabnitz leaves the Austrian territory . Another important tributary is the Einser Canal , which flows into the river. At Győr the Rabnitz flows into the right-hand side arm Mosoni Duna ( Moson-Danube or "Little Danube") of the Danube , shortly before the Raab joins it.

Shortly before the Hungarian border near Lutzmannsburg, the Rabnitz still shows itself in the form of untouched nature , which is otherwise rarely found due to the river regulations. But even in Hungary you can find natural landscapes along the river that have been placed under protection and belong to the Fertő-Hanság National Park .
In and to the Rabnitz there are a variety of animal species such as brown trout , pike , barbel , nose , white fish , wild ducks and herons , as well as various species of dragonflies . Also muskrats have their habitat .
The crayfish , which were still common in the past, have become rare due to the crab plague .

- Rabnitzstraße: in Piringsdorf and Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz
- Rabnitzweg: in Lutzmannsburg , Mannersdorf an der Rabnitz and Leopoldau , named after the river in 1966. Before that it was called Sternweg .
