history

The original Radduscher brickworks was built in 1794 by the landowner Paulisch, as there were clay deposits in the vicinity . The clay was originally mined by hand and the bricks were also made by hand. It was not until 1908 that brick production was increased with the construction of a ring kiln . In 1918 the clay deposits near Raddusch dried up, the brickworks ceased operations and was later blown up. Today the Radduscher Ziegelei settlement consists of three residential buildings.

The living space has belonged to the then Raddusch community since it was built . After the Congress of Vienna , Niederlausitz was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia , where the settlement belonged to the Calau district , which was renamed Senftenberg district in 1950 . After the district reform in the GDR on July 25, 1952, Raddusch and the associated settlements came to the Calau district in the Cottbus district . After the reunification , the Calau district was renamed the Calau district and Radduscher Ziegelei was assigned to the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district after the district reform in December 1993 . On October 26, 2003, Raddusch was incorporated into the town of Vetschau / Spreewald with the Radduscher Ziegelei residential area .
