The Super Cops - Always Crazy! is a 2016 French - Belgian comedy film directed by Dany Boon .

action

Johanna Pasquali's greatest dream is to be employed by the special unit of the French National Police , RAID . The daughter of the French interior minister Jacques Pasquali, however, only made it to the Police nationale as a simple policewoman and, due to her clumsiness, is reluctant to be assigned to assignments there. Johanna has already applied to the RAID several times and when she tries again she is rejected because of bad reports, even if her colleagues at the National Police would like to get rid of her. After helping bank robbers escape and knocking down the bank manager, she is suspended. This clouded her mood immensely, so that she lost her desire to marry the rich Edouard. In order to cure his daughter from her RAID obsession, Jacques Pasquali secretly asserts that the RAID manager Patrick Legrand is accepted into the RAID as a trainee. He hopes that after two months at the most she will die of pleasure.

In the RAID, Johanna and 16 other applicants are trained by Eugène Froissard. His wife has just left him and is more than critical of women. The other trainees are enthusiastic about Johanna and support her, and Patrick Legrand also helps her to get through the first tough weeks. Johanna's love for RAID tends to increase, which leads her father to intervene with Legrand. She should get boring jobs in order to voluntarily get out of the RAID. An operation in which she is only supposed to eavesdrop on suspects initially turns out to be catastrophic with her chaotic involvement, but in the end leads to the arrest of the suspect. When Jacques Pasquali gave Legrand a week to release his daughter, he accepted her into the RAID Paris as the best of the year.

Johanna's first deployment takes place in an attack with hostage-taking by the Serbian leopard gang. Instead of being present at the point of access, she is deported to a café so that she is safe and does not make any nonsense. Here she meets Viktor, whose Serbian dialect she interprets as Alsatian. She tells him how the RAID unit will be accessed, and Viktor warns the members of the Leopard gang. At Christopher Street Day , Johanna meets Viktor again and, while eating together, reveals the details of another mission in which large amounts of cash are to be transported. At the same time as the transport, a meeting of international heads of state with the participation of the Serbian president takes place.

Surprisingly, Johanna is left by her boyfriend shortly before the wedding. She finds solace in Eugène, who has begun to see Johanna in a new light. Both spend the night together on his birthday, even if they want to keep this a secret. The next day the RAID is used to transport money, even if it has become known that the leopard gang knows which route the car will travel through a mole. Since the statesmen all have bodyguards themselves, the RAID does not secure the parallel event. When Johanna hears the Serbian president speak on the radio, she realizes that Viktor is actually a Serb and that she must be the unknown mole. She realizes that the Leopard Gang wants to murder the Serbian president, but nobody believes her. Alone she went to Vaux-le-Vicomte Castle and got all the statesmen to leave the castle with a pistol shot. Shortly afterwards the building is reduced to rubble and ashes by the Leopard Walk. The RAID arrives and Eugène and his partner Olivier Lopez go into the building, where they also meet Johanna and her father and defeat the leopard gang together. In the end, the injured Eugène is carried out of the building by Johanna. A few days later, Johanna was awarded the medal for special services by the French President for her dedication.

production

Vaux-le-Vicomte Castle, where the film was set

The Super Cops - Always Crazy! was Dany Boon's fifth feature film directorial work and after Next, Please! (2012) and Super-Hypochonder (2014) the third collaboration between Dany Boon and Alice Pol. The film was shot in France and Belgium from the end of February. During the shooting, several terrorist attacks occurred in Brussels in March , so that planned recordings at Brussels-Zaventem Airport were canceled and postponed. As a result of the attacks, Dany Boon changed the ending of his film, as planned recordings on a boat on the Seine were prohibited for safety reasons. Scenes in the RAID training center were shot in Villacoublay , and castle scenes were filmed in Vaux-le-Vicomte Castle . Laetitia Bouix created the costumes and Hervé Gallet designed the film .

The Super Cops - Always Crazy! premiered on December 19, 2016 in Liévin and opened in French cinemas on February 1, 2017. With over 4.5 million visitors, it was the most successful French film at the box office in France in 2017 and the second most successful film of the year after Despicable Me 3 . The film was released directly on DVD in Germany on November 24, 2017.
