Chapel, castle
The St. Gangolfus chapel in the old town center of Ramscheid at 600 m above sea level. NHN belongs to the parish Hollerath. The west tower is late Gothic. In its tower hangs a very old, small bell with the inscription: MARIA GRATIA PLENA DOMINUS TECUM ANNO DOMINI MCCCCXVIII (i. E. 1498). The legend goes about the little bell that it comes from the castle of the Burgkopf. A hall church was added in the 18th century and the roof was raised in 1837. The small sacristy has a slate roof . In the chapel there is a neo-Gothic carved altar made by the Heinen company in Hellenthal.
