Career as a player

college

Marshall grew up in Detroit and initially studied at Ball State University in the US state of Indiana . After a year he returned to Michigan and continued his studies at Oakland University in Rochester . Due to the regulations of the college league NCAA , he was not eligible to play in official games for a year due to the change of university. From 2002 he played three seasons for the Golden Grizzlies in the Summit League of Division I.

NBA

Although not considered in the NBA Entry Draft , Marshall got a contract with the Dallas Mavericks for the 2005-2006 season . Between December 2005 and February 2006 he was given to the Fort Worth Flyers farm team in the NBA Development League . After his return, he was able to earn some playing time due to injuries to other players, but was no longer considered in the play-offs of the season, in which the Mavericks first moved into the finals of the NBA. For the following season he was given in a player swap to the Indiana Pacers. After another 40 games, he did not get a new contract and went to Europe.

Europe

Even with European clubs, he usually did not stay more than one season. First he was in the 2007/08 season at KK Hemofarm from Vršac under contract, with whom he reached the final series in the Adriatic League and the Serbian championship, which were lost to Partizan Belgrade . In the ULEB Eurocup they lost the round of 16 against the eventual finalist Akasvayu Girona . With Cibona from the Croatian Zagreb he started in the highest European club competition ULEB Euroleague and was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) on the seventh match day of the 2008/09 season . In January 2009 he moved to the Superleague Russia to Lokomotiv Rostov.

In the following season 2009/10 he was initially active for a few games at the Spanish first division club Power Electronics from Valencia . The contract was already canceled on November 1st and while the Spanish club won the Eurocup 2009/10 in the final against Alba Berlin at the end of the season , Marshall moved to the French record champions ASVEL from Villeurbanne in mid-November 2009 . The defending champion of the French championship retired early in the ULEB Euroleague 2009/10 and also missed the play-offs for the national championship. For the 2010/11 season Marshall moved to the A1 Ethniki at PAOK in Thessaloniki . After a third place in the Greek championship, he moved to the newly founded BK Astana in Kazakhstan at the beginning of the 2011/12 season . For Astana he played for two years in the VTB United League and in the Kazakh championship. He was three times Kazakh Cup winner and two times Kazakh champion.
