Rehsen is a district of the city of Oranienbaum-Wörlitz in the district of Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Rehsen south of the Elbe bank is partly in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve between Dessau-Roßlau and Wittenberg . Only a few kilometers away is the Wörlitzer Park in the middle of the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm , which was founded in the second half of the 18th century under the reign of Prince Leopold III. Friedrich Franz von Anhalt-Dessau was created. The area around Rehsen is flat and is crossed by numerous ditches and streams.
history
In the year 1200 , the place originally settled by Slavs appears for the first time in a tithe register as a resem .
The place has been the seat of a noble family for centuries. The von der Lochau knight family has been called since 1495, and Gohrau also belonged to their aristocratic property .
After the depopulation of large stretches of land during the Thirty Years' War , colonist houses were built at the beginning of the 18th century for the disused soldiers of the old Dessauer , whose property included the neighboring community of Gohrau and Rehsen. These half-timbered houses are now a listed building.
On July 1, 2007, the Rehsen community was incorporated into the Wittenberg district due to a district reform from the former Anhalt-Zerbst district.
Rehsen has been part of the newly formed town of Oranienbaum-Wörlitz since January 1, 2011 .

Transport links
Rehsen is on the L131 state road from Dessau-Roßlau via Oranienbaum to Wittenberg . The motorway connections ( A 9 ) Dessau-Ost and Vockerode are approx. 17 km away. The next stop is in nearby Bergwitz ( Berlin – Halle line ). The Wörlitz station on the Dessau – Gohrau-Rehsen railway line is only served in the summer season.
