The Lage heron colony is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon community of Lage in the joint community of Neuenhaus in the Grafschaft Bentheim district .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 052 is 13 hectares in size. It is located on the outskirts of Lage south of Neuenhaus and is a colony of gray herons under protection. The heron colony has been located in a manor forest in the Dinkel floodplain since at least the end of the 19th century .
The area has been a nature reserve since July 1, 1977. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the county of Bentheim.
