The Brünas Heide is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Esche in the joint municipality of Neuenhaus in the county of Bentheim .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 139 is 10 hectares in size. It is located south of Esche between Hoogstede and Neuenhaus and protects what remains of a Hudeland , a cultural landscape that used to be widespread in the Vecht valley . The area is characterized by dry grass , sandy heather and woody plants - primarily junipers and thorn bushes.
The nature reserve, which is surrounded by agricultural land , borders the Vechte in the west and the Asmeerbecke in the south. It has been a nature reserve since July 30, 1983. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the county of Bentheim.
