The Dalum-Wietmarscher Moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Geeste and Twist in the Emsland district and Wietmarschen in the Grafschaft Bentheim district .

The nature reserve with the registration NSG WE 265 is 1,580  hectares in size. Of this, 793 hectares are in the Emsland district and 787 hectares in the Grafschaft Bentheim district. The nature reserve is almost completely part of the EU bird sanctuary "Dalum-Wietmarscher Moor and Georgsdorfer Moor". The area has been a nature reserve since January 31, 2008. Responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Lingen between Dalum , Wietmarschen and Twist in the Bourtanger Moor-Bargerveen International Nature Park and is part of the Bourtanger Moor . In the northwest it borders on the nature reserve " Hengstkampkuhlen ". The “ Geestmoor ” nature reserve connects to the northeast, a few hundred meters away .

The reserve provides a high moor area under protection, the still partially industrially at the time of the protected status abgetorft was. In a first area, peat extraction ended at the end of 2010, in other areas it will be discontinued at the end of 2011 and 2015. The final task of peat extraction is planned for the end of 2016. After the peat extraction has ended, the corresponding areas will be used for upland moor renaturation. An area used by a tree nursery in the south of the nature reserve must be given up by the end of 2026 at the latest.

The raised bog has been peated and is being renatured.

Parts of the peat bog areas in the protected area are already rewetted and can regenerate. In the edge areas of the nature reserve there is partially extensively managed grassland , parts of the areas are forested. As a bird sanctuary, the nature reserve is of particular importance for wading and meadow birds .

The area towards the Ems and the south-north canal is drained .

In the northeast of the nature reserve there is a viewing hill from which the moor can be seen. Another viewing platform is to be built as part of a nature experience project with information boards near Füchtenfeld in the south of the nature reserve. In the north-west, a light railway used for tourism runs through part of the protected area . In the east, the nature reserve borders in parts on the A 31 .
