The Moorschlatts and Heiden in Wachendorf are a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Lingen and in the municipality of Geeste in the Emsland district .

The nature reserve with the registration NSG WE 264 is 145  hectares in size. Of this, 136 hectares are in the city of Lingen and 9 hectares in the district of Emsland. Almost 110 hectares of the area form the FFH area of ​​the same name . The area has been a nature reserve since December 20, 2007. The responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the city of Lingen and the district of Emsland.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Lingen in the Arenberg forest. The area is of fluvial deposits , air and sand dunes shaped on which a predominantly pine and larch existing coniferous forest growing. In hollows, there are still waters and raised bogs with peat moss - swinging lawns and bog heath . In the east of the nature reserve, heather areas are predominant, which are interspersed with grassland .

Individual areas in the nature reserve are used for agriculture . The forest is mainly managed for forestry purposes.
