The Steider Keienvenn is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Salzbergen in the Emsland district .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 033 is 42 hectares in size. It lies west of Salzbergen and protects a fen with a silting lake. The area is occupied by large areas of reed beds, which are surrounded by softwood bushes and alder forest .
In order to minimize the nutrient input from agricultural areas outside the nature reserve, special provisions apply to the application of liquid manure .
A stream runs through the moorland, which later flows into the Ahlder Bach, a tributary of the Vechte .
The area has been a nature reserve since November 7, 1987. It replaces the "Keien-Venn" nature reserve, which was designated on July 14, 1937. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Emsland.
