The Große Tate Meer is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Friesoythe in the district of Cloppenburg and the municipality of Rastdorf in the integrated municipality of Werlte in the district of Emsland .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 049 is 4.8  hectares . Of this, 4 hectares are in the Cloppenburg district and 0.8 hectares in the Emsland district. The area has been a nature reserve since June 15, 1968. Responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Cloppenburg and Emsland.

The reserve is located southwest of Friesoythe near Gehlenberg and is formed by a bog pond almost 20 meters deep, which was created by a sinkhole . Humidity-dependent habitats can be found around the bog pond.
