The Heidfeld is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Engden in the joint municipality of Schüttorf in the county of Bentheim and the unified municipality of Emsbüren in the district of Emsland .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 241 is 200  hectares in size. Of this, 164 hectares are in the Grafschaft Bentheim district and 36 hectares in the Emsland district.

The nature reserve is located between Schüttorf and Emsbüren west of the A 31 . It is a forest area under protection, which is largely environmentally sound forestry is managed. In part of the protected area, the forest has been taken out of use as a natural forest. 36.8 hectares of the forest area have been designated as the “Drievorden” natural forest reserve since 1998 .

The Ahlder Bach flows through the nature reserve in the northeastern area.

At the time it was placed under protection, the forest was predominantly characterized by mixed pine forest, which is to be developed into mixed oak and beech-pedunculate oak forest .

The area has been a nature reserve since December 13, 2003. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Emsland.
