The rings high moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony community of rings in the integrated community of Emlichheim in the county of Bentheim .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 135 is 145  hectares . It has been a nature reserve since January 19, 1998. It replaces the 110 hectare nature reserve of the same name, originally placed under protection on March 19, 1983. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the county of Bentheim.

The nature reserve is located northeast of Hoogstede and southwest of Twist on the southwestern edge of the formerly extensive Bourtanger Moor . In the east it borders directly on the International Nature Park Bourtanger Moor-Bargerveen .

The reserve preserves a raised moor that has been changed by drainage and extensive agricultural use. Only parts were peeled off . An approximately 30-hectare area of the nature reserve is the beginning of the 21st century rewetted Service. The moor can regenerate here. The rewetting project in the nature reserve is supervised by the Nordhorn Zoo in cooperation with other nature conservation associations.

The moor area is primarily drained via the Alexisdorf ditch to the Grenzaa . Large areas of the protected area are characterized by heather and birch trees.
