The Borkener Paradies is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon town of Meppen in the Emsland district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 022 is 33.4  hectares in size. It is completely part of the FFH area "Ems". The area has been a nature reserve since July 31, 1937. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Emsland.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Meppen. It is surrounded by an old arm of the Ems and protects a hat landscape as a historical cultural landscape that was used as a common pasture. Today the area is characterized by alluvial forest and pasture areas. Lean grass can be found on sandy, dry areas ; in the middle of the area there is a pond with silting zones . In order to preserve the character of the landscape, the area is still grazed with cows and horses today. To the west of the nature reserve there is a hardwood alluvial forest between this and the oxbow lake of the Ems .

The Borkener Paradise is also used for local recreation and can be experienced via a signposted circular route.
