Reinhold Grübl

Reinhold Alexander Grübl (born July 11, 1928 in Munich ; † May 14, 1994 in Ebenhausen (Schäftlarn) ) was a German sculptor .

Life

Before training as a sculptor, he completed an apprenticeship as a wood sculptor with his father Max Grübl, a wood sculptor and plasterer in Munich. He then attended the Munich Academy of Fine Arts from 1949 to 1955 , where he was taught by Josef Oberberger and Josef Henselmann .

He had a studio in Ebenhausen in the Isar valley. His area of ​​activity was in Bavaria ( Augsburg , Gersthofen , Dachau , Memmingen , Neu-Ulm , Passau , Schwandorf , Munich , Baldham , Altenstadt , Günzburg , Bad Grönenbach ).

He was married to the artist Linde Mötz-Grübl (1939–2014), with whom he carried out artistic projects together. He was a freelance artist until his death in 1994. It is known that he also exhibited at the “Great Art Exhibition in Munich” in 1965 in the Haus der Kunst (“Young Artists of the Academy”). Furthermore exhibitions in London, Paris, Giessen, Augsburg, Bozen, Wiesbaden.

Honors

The Reinhold-Grübl-Weg was named after him in Dachau .

On January 1st, 1978 he was appointed a member of the commission for sacred art in the diocese of Augsburg by appointment of the bishop of Augsburg.
