The then independent Bernina Railway (BB) put the meter-gauge Fe 4/4 51 electric multiple unit built by SIG and Alioth into service in 1909 . With its wooden structure, the luggage railcar was externally reminiscent of a freight car ; the electrical equipment corresponded to a «halved» passenger car BCe 4/4 . With the takeover of the Bernina Railway by the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) in 1943, this vehicle also changed hands. With the renaming of the baggage car , the railcar changed from Fe 2/2 to De 2/2 and in 1965 it received number 151 from the RhB.
Over time, the RhB made some changes:
- 1951: Replacement of the lyre bar with a pantograph
 - 1961–62: new car body , new travel switch , compressed air shunting brake and magnetic rail brake in addition to the existing vacuum brake
 - 1980: Laminated box, single-arm pantograph

The one-off, renumbered to 151 in 1965, was painted gray on the BB, initially green, and later red-brown on the RhB. It has been painted in traffic orange since the beginning of the 1990s .
Used as a shunting locomotive - in the summer months mostly on Ospizio Bernina , otherwise in Poschiavo .
