Karl Friedrich Robert Wahlert , von Wahlert since 1871 (born May 21, 1817 in Koblenz , † April 6, 1891 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a Prussian major general and commandant of the Minden fortress .

Life

The Wahlert family comes from Hessen-Nassau . His parents were the Secret Government Councilor Georg Friedrich Wahlert († September 17, 1847) and his wife Emilie Sophie Juliane, born von Alvensleben (September 18, 1792; † October 22, 1853). She was the daughter of Gebhard von Alvensleben (1764–1840) on Randau and Karoline, born von Radecke (1772–1812). Wahlert's parents divorced in 1830 and the mother married her lover, General of the Infantry and Minister of War Ernst von Pfuel (1779–1866). His sister Adelheid Caroline Klara (1819–1908) was married to General Christian August Ludwig Friedrich von Borcke (1804–1888).

Military career

Wahlert visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . He was then on 14 August 1834 Sergeant of the 30th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian army in Trier transfer. Here Wahlert was promoted to second lieutenant until mid-April 1836 and from 1839 he served as adjutant of the 1st battalion. The geologist Wilhelm Hauchecorne was her brother. The couple had several children:
