geography
The Romenthal State Estate is located about one kilometer north of Dießen am Ammersee on a ridge.
history
Romenthal is mentioned for the first time in 1315 as "Raumtal" in the land register of the Dießen monastery .
Finally, in 1642, the Dießen monastery acquired the neighboring Schwaige.
In the course of the War of the Spanish Succession , the estate was destroyed in 1704.
With the secularization of 1802, Romenthal fell to Kurbayern , but the Schwaige was already auctioned off to a private person from Raisting in 1803. In 1937, the state of Bavaria acquired the Schwaige, but Romenthal is now back in private ownership.
