geography
The hamlet of Unterbeuern is about a kilometer east of Obermühlhausen am Beurerbach .
history
In a forest south of the hamlet, the remains of a Roman villa rustica have already been excavated.
A stone box grave found in a farmhouse dates from the early 8th century .
Unterbeuren is first mentioned in 1025 as a buron .
In 1236 Gottschalk Zwigel bequeathed his farm in Unterbeuern to the Dießen monastery, and in 1396 a Sedelhof is mentioned in the hamlet. After the monastery also acquired lower jurisdiction over the hamlet in 1696 , it belonged to the closed cloister courtyard market of Dießen until the secularization in 1803 . In 1752 three properties are mentioned, a whole courtyard, a half courtyard and a sixteenth courtyard.
Unterbeuern belonged to 31 December 1971 on the formerly independent municipality Obermühlhausen and was jointly therewith on 1 January 1972 after Diessen incorporated .
Attractions
In the hamlet is the St. Magnus Chapel , a small baroque building that was built around 1710 on top of a medieval building. A small pilgrimage takes place on September 6th (Magnustag) .
