Rieden am Ammersee is a district of the market Dießen am Ammersee and a district in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .
geography
The hamlet of Rieden am Ammersee is about two kilometers north of Riederau , directly adjacent to the Seewiesen and Seeholz.
history
It was first mentioned in 1163. In 1182, Rieden was described as a wasteland with a little church.
Until the secularization in 1803, the hamlet belonged to the cloister yard mark of Dießen .
On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Rieden was largely incorporated into Dießen . From the seven places Riederau , Bierdorf , Lachen , Rieden am Ammersee, Romenthal and Sankt Alban came to the municipality of Dießen am Ammersee, Holzhausen came to the municipality of Utting am Ammersee . Around 261 hectares of the former municipal area of around 1471 hectares came to the municipality of Utting, the majority of which went to Dießen.
Attractions
In the hamlet there is the St. Georg chapel , which partly dates back to the Romanesque period and was renovated between 2002 and 2006.
