Roque Mesa Quevedo (born June 7, 1989 in Telde , Gran Canaria ) is a Spanish football player who is under contract as a midfielder with Sevilla FC .

Club career

Mesa comes from the youth of UD Telde , a club from the Canary Islands . Mesa joined the youth division of Levante UD in 2005 after making his debut for Telde UD. He was promoted to the second team in the 2007/08 season, in the Tercera División , but left the club in mid-2009 and signed with AD Huracán .

26 January 2010 Mesa came, he moved to CD Tenerife B in the Segunda División B . In 2010, Mesa signed with another reserve team, UD Las Palmas B in the fourth division. In 2010 he was promoted to the first-team professional squad for the first time. On November 28, 2013, Mesa signed a new four-year contract that ran until 2017 and was promoted to the first team in July of the following year. He scored his first goal in professional football on November 1, 2014, and scored his team's second goal in a 2-1 home win against Albacete Balompié in the Segunda División . Mesa played 35 games and scored four goals in the 2014/15 season in which Las Palmas returned to Spain's top division, the Primera División . He made his debut in the Spanish top division on August 22, 2015 in a 0-1 defeat at Atlético Madrid . He scored his first goal on September 23 of the same year against Sevilla FC.

On July 6, 2017 signed Mesa a four-year contract with the Premier League team Swansea City for a fee of 11 million pounds . His first game took place on August 19, 2017, when he played 67 minutes in a 4-0 home loss to Manchester United . He completed a total of 11 league games for the club from Wales and could not prevail in the starting line-up.

On January 30, 2018, Mesa joined Sevilla FC for the remainder of the season on loan with an agreed purchase option. In June, Sevilla signed Mesa for three years. The fee was 6 million euros .
