Route Verte (French for "Green Road") is a network of long-distance cycle paths in the Canadian province of Québec . It is over 4,300 kilometers long and the most important network of its kind on the American continent.

The concept was worked out in the late 1980s by the non-profit organization Vélo Québec . In 1995 the provincial government announced that it would support the project financially. Since then, Vélo Québec has coordinated planning, interregional cooperation and advertising. There is a close cooperation with the Quebec tourism industry. Route Verte was officially opened in August 2007.
