Career

After Chepngetich celebrated her first international successes in 2016 with a victory at the Muaskar half marathon in Algeria , she increased considerably in 2017 and was able to win both the Istanbul half marathon in spring and the Istanbul marathon in autumn.

At the 2018 Half Marathon World Championships in Valencia , Chepngetich won a silver medal together with her teammates Joyciline Jepkosgei and Pauline Kaveke Kamulu.

Chepngetich attracted a lot of international attention with her performance at the Istanbul Marathon 2018, in which she was able to improve to 2:18:35 h despite the hilly and therefore not ideal route profile. At the end of the year, Chepngetich placed fourth at the same time as her compatriot Brigid Kosgei .

At the Dubai Marathon 2019, only 75 days after the world class time in Istanbul, Chepngetich climbed to 2:17:08 h, making it the third fastest female marathon runner of all time.

Chepngetich is represented by Federico Rosa, who also looked after the marathon runners Rita Jeptoo and Jemima Sumgong , who were banned for doping abuse . In both cases, the intake of Epo was proven and the runners were banned for 4 and 8 years respectively.
