Sérgio Marques (born September 20, 1980 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese triathlete and runner-up European champion in the long distance (2016).

Career

Sérgio Marques mainly competes in the long or Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and he is known for his running strength.

In October 2013 he won the Barcelona-Maresme Challenge . In November he became Portuguese national champion on the long distance and was able to repeat this success in 2014. In 2014 he also finished fourth at the ITU European Championship on the long distance.

Vice-European Champion Long Distance Triathlon 2016

In September 2015 he was third at the European Triathlon Championships on the long distance and in July 2016 Vice European Champion. In August 2018, the 38-year-old became Vice National Long Distance Champion.
