Saga Sambou Koira (also: Saga Sambou Kouara , Saga Sambou Kwara ) is a district ( French : quartier ) in the Arrondissement Niamey IV of the city of Niamey in Niger .

Saga Sambou Koira is located in the south of the urban area of ​​Niamey on the Niger River . The neighborhood is part of the historical center of Saga .

history

According to the local chronicle, Saga Sambou Koira was founded as one of the four oldest neighborhoods in Saga at the end of the 16th century. The other three are Saga Fondobon , Saga Gassia Kouara, and Saga Goungou . Sambou Moussa, a son of Saga founder Moussa Zarmakoye, is considered the founder of Saga Sambou Koira.

At the 2012 census, Saga Sambou Koira had 2,093 residents who lived in 363 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 1,340 in 207 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 2,839 in 357 households.
