technology
Cameras
With the S9 and S9 +, Samsung focuses on the cameras of the smartphone. The slogan on the invitation was: "The Camera, reimagined", in German, for example: "The camera, further thought". "With two different aperture openings, the variable aperture adjusts itself fully automatically to the ambient light. The variable aperture supports an F1.5 and F2.4 setting." There is also the option of recording in super slow motion , ie at 960 frames per second. However, the length of such a sequence is limited to 0.2 seconds. The S9 + has a second main camera that enables a double optical zoom. However, the second camera does not have a variable aperture, it only supports the F2.4 setting. Two different sensor chips are used: a Sony IMX345 or an ISOCELL S5K2L3 from our own production.
screen
Both the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 + have a QHD or Quad-HD Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9 and a resolution of 2960 × 1440 pixels .
speaker
A novelty for smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy series is the use of two speakers for music playback. A stereo effect is created using the ear cup speaker and the lower speaker. The system is being developed in cooperation with the Samsung subsidiary AKG and is also Dolby Atmos compatible.
Batteries
The Galaxy S9 has a 3000 milli ampere - lithium-ion battery pack; the Galaxy S9 Plus has one with 3500 mAh. Both are not interchangeable.
Charging capacities of up to 15 watts can be achieved with wired charging and up to 10 watts with wireless charging .
The Galaxy S9 supports the wireless energy transmission standards " Qi " and " Powermat " .
The new so-called “ Samsung PowerShare ” function enables wireless unloading into another Qi- enabled device, including other cell phones, wireless headphones and smartwatches.
