German Chess League 1991/92 (women)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1991/92 season was the first season of the newly founded national chess league for women. Lasker Steglitz was two points ahead of the top and secured the first title of the women's chess national league. The SV Chemie Guben and the SC Bessenbach had to relegate , actually the Krefeld chess club Turm 1851 would also have relegated, which lost the playoff for 9th place against the VdS Buna Halle with 1.5: 4.5 , who had the same team and board point . But since Lasker Steglitz withdrew from the Bundesliga, the Krefeld women were spared relegation. For the reported team squads of the participating clubs, see the team squad of the German Federal Chess League 1991/92 (women) .

qualification

A total of 12 clubs were eligible to compete in the Women's Chess League 1991/92, six each from the old and new federal states. In the former GDR there had been regular team games for women for a long time, so that the first six of the DSV-Oberliga women qualified in 1990/91, namely Rotation Berlin , Post SV Dresden , Spielvereinigung Leipzig 1899 , BSG Motor Weimar , VdS Buna Halle and SV Chemie Guben . In the west there was a team game for women only at regional level (as well as a final round in 1990 and 1991), so that the six starting places were played in regional tournaments, Lasker Steglitz , the Hamburger SK , the Krefeld chess club Turm 1851 , the TSV Schott qualified Mainz , SV 1920 Hofheim and SC Bessenbach .
