State Chess League 1975/76

The 1975/76 season was the first season of the Austrian State Chess League .

In addition to the three participants in the 1975 state championship ( Union Styria Graz , SK Hietzing Wien and SK Schlechter Innsbruck ), SK Austria Wien , SK VÖEST Linz , SV ATSV Ranshofen , ASK Klagenfurt and SK St. Pölten had signed up to participate qualified for the first season of the State Chess League.

The first champion of the State Chess League was SK Austria Wien with a clear lead. The ruling national champion Union Styria Graz only ended up in the middle of the field.

SK St. Pölten did not get past last place and had to relegate. Since the state league was increased to ten clubs for the 1976/77 season, three teams rose to the state league at the end of the season.

Qualification for the State League 1976/77

The SK municipality Graz , SK Dornbirn and the 1st SSK Mozart were able to qualify for the following season. The venue, date and results of the qualifying tournament are also unknown, as are the other participating clubs.
