German Chess League 2012/13 (Austria)
The 2012/13 season was the 38th season of the Austrian Chess League . Until the middle of the season everything was going to be a head-to-head race between the defending champions SK Baden and Schachklub Jenbach , but after Jenbach won the direct comparison in the 7th round, a preliminary decision had been made. In fact, Jenbach also won the next three competitions and was thus already the champion before the last round, while in the further course of the season had to accept two more defeats and fell back to third place. The SK Husek (group east), the chess club Ansfelden (middle) and the SK Absam (west) were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . Husek was the only newcomer to assert himself, while Ansfelden and Absam were relegated together with SK Fürstenfeld . However, since Husek withdrew his team from the first division after the season, Ansfelden remained in the first division. Later SK Zwettl also withdrew its team, and since SK Fürstenfeld decided not to remain in the Bundesliga, SK Absam managed to stay in the league.
