Qualification for the State League 1983/84

The qualification was regulated in two stages. While the champions of the Eastern and Western leagues were directly eligible to play for the qualifying tournament, the champions of the regional leagues of Carinthia, Vienna and Styria first had to determine the third participant in the qualifying tournament in a pre-qualification.

Pre-qualification

The pre-qualification took place from June 11th to 12th in Vienna . Participants were ATSV Wolfsberg (winner of the Carinthian regional league), SK Währing (winner of the Vienna regional league) and SC Graz as the winner of the Styrian regional league. As SK Währing played 2-2 against both competitors, ATSV Wolfsberg won the qualification tournament through their win against SC Graz.
