history

In the 13th century, Schaiblishausen is documented as "Husin". The later addition "Schaiblis" probably goes back to the low aristocratic family Schadwin who lived in the village. They were servants of the Counts of Berg who had sovereignty over Schaiblishausen. The rights were transferred from the Counts of Berg to Austria in 1343. Later, the Marchtal and Urspring monasteries owned goods here. In 1681, the Counts Schenk von Castell and the Berg-Schelklingen lordship received the place as a pledge and later as a fief. Since 1805, Schaiblishausen was part of the Oberamt Ehingen and thus belonged to the Kingdom of Württemberg .

The earliest evidence of the Schaiblishauser chapel is from the year 1492. The chapel is consecrated to Saints Magnus and Leonhard. Most of the current building dates from 1890.

On January 1, 1973 the village was incorporated into Ehingen together with Bockighofen and became one of today's 17 suburbs.
