course
The Schede rises in the southern part of the Bramwald . Their source is located about 1 km southwest of the core town of Bühren at around 300 m above sea level. NHN in the funnel-shaped spring pot Braukborn . The filling of the Schede spring varies from 0.1 to 1 liter per second depending on the season. Beyond Bühren lies the origin of the Nieme , another tributary of the Weser.
The Schede, which runs exclusively in the Münden Nature Park , initially flows in a north-easterly direction to Bühren, in order to flow through the place eastwards. It then runs to the southeast and east past Dankelshausen (district of Scheden), and then heads towards Scheden , which is west of the Dransfeld city forest . Without reaching this low mountain range, the Schede flows approximately southwest through the village of Niederscheden.
Then the stream - accompanied by a section of the federal highway 3 - flows to the southwest and passes Mielenhausen (district of Hann. Münden ) to the southeast. According to this, the Schede forces itself on the southern roofing of the Bramwald or on the northern roofing of the mountain landscape of the Mündener Stadtforst in a western direction flowing through the Schedetal with the hamlet of Schedetal , after which it flows through Volkmarshausen (district of Hann. Münden).
The Schede flows a little west of Volkmarshausen after the confluence of the Thielebach coming from the southeast or directly after crossing under the state road 561, which the Hann. Mündener districts Gimte in the south with Hemeln in the north, at around 110 m above sea level in the Weser flowing to the North Sea , which results in a height difference of around 190 m.
Hilwartshausen , a monastery property just in Lower Saxony on the eastern roof of the North Hessian Reinhardswald , lies opposite the Schede confluence on the southwest edge of the Bramwald and thus on the other or western bank of the Weser .
Heinrich flood
In the Schede valley , severe damage occurred during the Heinrich flood, the flood disaster of July 16 and 17, 1965, in Volkmarshausen, where a felt factory was flooded and its stocks were washed away. Here, drainage ditches that were completely clogged with mud caused major problems.
