Swiss Football Championship 1916/17

The twentieth Swiss football championship was 1916 / 1917 instead. The FC Winterthur in 1917 Swiss champion for the third time, which made him then behind the Young Boys Bern and the Grasshopper Club Zurich (could win four championships) the third most successful club of Switzerland.

Since the championship took place in 1917 during the First World War , the relegation between Serie A and B was suspended.

The top division, Serie A , was divided into three regional groups. A win brought 2 points, a draw 1 point. The winners of the three groups competed against each other in finals for the championship.
