Sebastian Niklaus
Sebastian Niklaus (born August 2, 1982 in Karlsruhe ) is a German guitarist , ukulele player , songwriter and singer in the German-speaking pop and songwriting genre .
Life
Sebastian Niklaus grew up in Elchesheim-Illingen and attended the Wilhelm-Hausenstein Gymnasium in Durmersheim until he graduated from high school . After studying electrical engineering at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, which he graduated with a diploma in 2007, he began to write songs in his spare time in 2009. After his first live appearances at newcomer events, such as the Substage in Karlsruhe, he soon played with increasing frequency and radius in small clubs in the region around Rastatt , Karlsruhe and Pforzheim .
In March 2012 Sebastian Niklaus presented his debut album Ich Denk Musik in the Rastatter Reithalle . The pieces on the album with eleven tracks are based on acoustic guitar and vocals , except for the bonus title Elektroingenieur , which is accompanied by a ukulele. Other instruments of the arrangements were played by guest musicians. The idea of the album was the National Show of Baden-Wuerttemberg of television SWR accompanied.
In February 2013 Sebastian Niklaus became a full-time musician. To mark the start of sales for the album, Niklaus and cameraman Sven Latzke and director Thomas Bangert produced a video clip for the title song of the same name I think music .
Sebastian Niklaus received praise from Konstantin Wecker , who has already drawn attention to Niklaus' compositions several times in his weblog Behind the Headlines .
Stations in 2013 included the Hessentag in Kassel, DasFEST in Karlsruhe, and an appearance in the supporting program of the New Pop Festival (Wagener stage). Further concerts of the “Ich denk Musik” tour were in Berlin, Würzburg, Nuremberg, Hamburg, Kassel, Chemnitz, Schwäbisch Hall, Stuttgart, Basel and Mannheim. He also took part in one station each on the summer tour of SWR4 and Die Neue Welle as a musical act. From March 2014 Sebastian Niklaus did a tour mostly with a new band consisting of four musicians from the Mannheim Pop Academy (Frederic Michel, Felix Schüler, Matthias Franz, Basti Völkel). In addition to various national events, it also included an appearance at the Schlossgrabenfest . On March 14th and 15th there were also performances on the Acoustic Stage at the Frankfurt Music Fair . On April 12, 2014 the single In mir was released , which was produced by Edo Zanki .
In autumn 2014, Sebastian Niklaus accompanied the Berlin band Staubkind as a preliminary act on their tour of Germany on twelve dates. In July 2015, the release of the single Ziel vor Augen followed , which was subsequently played on ARD Hitnacht and on Radio Berlin 88.8 . With his professional history, Sebastian Niklaus was a guest on WDR television in Die Runde Ecke in August 2015 . Even Spiegel Online reported on the "singing electrical engineer". A new release took place on May 25, 2016 with the single Friends .
Together with the bands In my Days and Emma6, the artist is involved in the campaign to avoid plastic waste by WWF youth .
