Sebastian Reinfeldt

Sebastian Reinfeldt (born October 31, 1963 in Hanover ) is a German political scientist and journalist . He has lived in Austria since the late 1990s and is a co-founder of the electoral alliance Vienna different (ANDAS).

Life

Sebastian Reinfeldt completed his school education first in Karlsruhe and then in Mainz , where he graduated from high school in 1984. He was a member of the FDP until 1981 and chairman of the Mainz Young Democrats from 1978 to 1983 . He did his community service at the youth welfare office of the city of Mainz. From 1986 to 1987 he studied German and political science at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and from 1988 political science, philosophy and public law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1997 Reinfeldt received his doctorate in political science with Alex Demirović and Joachim Hirsch with a thesis on populism in Austria.

After completing his studies, he worked on several projects in urban research and European university research . In addition, he was part of the staff of the German Trade Union Federation (DGB) Berlin-Brandenburg and coordinated a. a. a German-Polish trade union cooperation project. In 1998 Reinfeldt went to Austria and has lived and worked in Vienna ever since . He was u. a. active as a project employee in a research project at the University of Graz and as a lecturer at the Institute for Educational Science at the University of Innsbruck and at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Vienna , where he also held various teaching positions . He also works in adult education as a teacher of German as a foreign language.

His main focus as a political scientist includes right-wing populism , democratic theory , social policy , undogmatic Marxism and semiotics . Since the beginning of 2016 he has been running the blog Semiosisblog together with Christoph Ulbrich ; the range of topics includes "politics, analysis, research".

Reinfeldt ran unsuccessfully for the political alliance Europe different in the 2014 European elections . In 2015 he co-founded Allianz Wien different.

He is divorced and has three children.
