Seeburg is a nature reserve in the small town of Gröningen in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt, which is part of the Westliche Börde community .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0034 is 10.55  hectares . It is located northeast of Groningen and provides a sinkhole in northeastern resin foreshore under protection. The depression lies in an otherwise flat undulating plain that is widely used for arable farming . The depression is filled with water and develops into one of the largest natural bodies of water on the Magdeburg Börde in years of heavy rainfall . The nature reserve is completely surrounded by arable land, which leads to a large input of nutrients into the nature reserve.

The open water surface is surrounded by silting zones with mud and silt areas. The silting zones are occupied by reeds which, when the water level is very low, extend to almost the entire area. Besides are Sonchus palustris and Sedge with Carex Acutiformis and Rauhaarigem fireweed to find. Trees, including broken willow and black elder, populate the valley from the edge .

The nature reserve is the feeding and breeding area of numerous bird species and an important resting place for water birds . In the nature reserve breed and. a. Great crested , red-necked and little grebes as well as water rail and spotted marsh grouse . The reed areas offer the Marsh Harrier a suitable habitat. The Montagu's Harrier also occurs. Both birds of prey also breed here. The reed areas are a suitable resting place for bearded tits.

Further, the protected area habitat for various amphibians such as frog water, garlic , natural gas and toad and newt . There are also dragonflies , including the southern rush damsel , wedge-blotch damsel , and large and small royal dragonflies .

The area has been under protection since the end of 1967 (date of regulation: September 11, 1967). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Börde.
