The Bartensleben Forest is a nature reserve in the municipality of Erxleben in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0012 is around 200.79  hectares . It is almost congruent with the 204 hectare FFH area “Bartensleben Forest in the Aller Hügelland”. The nature reserve is completely from the conservation area surrounded "Harbke-Allertal". The area has been under protection since May 1, 1961. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Börde.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Erxleben and southeast of Weferlingen . It places a forest area with small-scale changing forest communities under protection. On locations remote from the groundwater, it is characterized by the beech forest , on locations near the groundwater by the pedunculate oak-hornbeam forest. In addition, spruce and larch forests grow in the nature reserve. The herb layer of the European beech forests is z. B. formed by shadow flowers , blueberries , hairline rims , pill sedge and numerous mosses . The pedunculate oak-hornbeam forests are represented in different forest communities. The herb layers are here u. a. formed by common mosses on mesotrophic sites and forest equestrian grass on sandy loam soils. To periodically wet locations partially dense shrub layers have hairgrass , Crepis paludosa , strawberry cinquefoil , German honeysuckle and Oxlip developed.

In old, water-filled sinkholes , fens with peat moss lawns have developed. Here are Carex echinata , Bogbean , Schei Diges cotton grass , Sundew and cranberry find. Alders , reeds and riding grasses grow on the edges of the sinkholes .

The forest area is a habitat for crane and wood sandpiper .
