Wellenberge – Rüsterberg is a nature reserve in the municipality of Hohe Börde in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0013 is 17.69  hectares in size. It lies partly in FFH area "Olbe- and Bebertal south Haldensleben" and is of the conservation area surrounded "Flechtingen Hills".

The nature reserve, which consists of two parts, is located southwest of Haldensleben in Bebertal . The southern sub-area comprises part of the slope of the Wellenberg, which is mainly exposed to the north, while the northern sub-area lies on the slope of the Rüsterberg, which is exposed to the south. The valley of the Beber runs between the two areas .

The area has been under protection since 1940 (date of regulation: October 5, 1940). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Börde.

Wave mountain

In the southern part of surface of the reserve predominantly increased a Hangenwald with hornbeam , elm , Winter Linde , stalk and Traubeneiche and mining and maple . The shrub layer is well developed here and is u. a. formed by the European eucoat , common hazel , black elder and common hawthorn . Sessile oak and hornbeam forest with winter linden trees grows on the shallower slope shoulders .

Several growing on the lower slopes Frühlingsgeophyten as Hohler and Middle Corydalis , Forest yellow star , Arum maculatum , Oxlip , Yellow Anemone and forest Bingelkraut . The forest edges are characterized by herbaceous vegetation.

The forest areas on the slope of the Wellenberg are mainly arable areas , while the Beber valley is characterized by green areas . In the northeast, the nature reserve borders on the residential areas of Bebertal II.

Rüsterberg

The northern part of the nature reserve is characterized by dry grass communities . On shallow soils grow thrifts , Festuca Brevipila , ear spoon Campion , dianthus carthusianorum , rock Yellow Star and stonecrop species . Valais fescue , awl grass , blue-green bedstraw , spring adonis , purple king candle and Illyrian buttercup occur on the loess soils of the southern slopes .

The nature reserve borders on the Rüsterberg partly on arable land and partly on the residential development of Bebertal. In the valley it is bordered by the Beber.

fauna

The nature reserve is characterized by a rich bird life . So here are u. a. Red-backed shrike , whinchat , nightingale and wood warbler to be found. Furthermore, mammals such as weasels , polecats and roof home.
