Septemes-les-Vallons is a French municipality with 11,019 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .

geography

Septèmes-les-Vallons is twenty kilometers from Aix-en-Provence . In the south, the municipality borders on that of Marseille . Other neighboring towns are Les Pennes-Mirabeau six kilometers away, Bouc-Bel-Air ten kilometers away and Simiane-Collongue five kilometers away.

history

The place was first mentioned in the first century. In 1790 the community was founded by separating from the neighboring village of Les Pennes-Mirabeau. The addition "les-Vallons" to the municipality name was added in 1919.

Town twinning

The municipality has had a town partnership with the Algerian Béni Abbès since 2006 .
