Shane Mahan

Shane Patrick Mahan (* 1964 in Greenville , Michigan ) is an American makeup, special effects artist and puppeteer, the 2009 Iron Man for the Oscar in the category visual effects best was nominated.

Life

He grew up in Greenville , Michigan and attended Greenville High School . After graduating in 1981, he moved to Hollywood. There he worked from 1983 for the Stan Winston Studio on the film The Terminator . In the decades that followed, he worked for the company as head of creation effects on films such as Predator , Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds . In 2007 he became a co-owner of the company.

After the death of Stan Winston in 2008 he founded the company with three other longtime employees Lindsay MacGowan , J. Alan Scott and John Rose Grant Studio Legacy Effects . In 2009 he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects for the film Iron Man together with John Nelson , Ben Snow and Daniel Sudick .
