European Short Track Championships 2005

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2005 European Short Track Championships took place from January 14th to January 16th, 2005 in Turin . After Bormio in 2000, this was the second time that Italy hosted the continental championships. A total of four European championship titles were awarded, one each in the all-around competition and one in the relay for women and men. The host was the International Skating Union (ISU).

In the all-around competition, Tatiana Borodulina prevailed among the women for the first time and thus interrupted Evgenija Radanova's winning streak , who was second. In the men's category, Fabio Carta won his seventh all-around title. Second came Arian Nachbar , who won the first German all-around medal at European Championships . In the relay, the Russian quartet prevailed among the women and the German quartet among the men.
