Shpenadia ( Albanian also Shpenadi or Shpinadi / -a , Serbian Шпинадија Špinadija ) is a village in Kosovo that belongs to the municipality of Prizren .
geography
Shpenadia is on a plain north of Prizren , about six kilometers from the city. Neighboring villages are Velezha in the west , Caparca in the north and Lutogllava and Korisha in the east .
history
After the conquest of Kosovo by the Kingdom of Serbia during the First Balkan War in 1912, the Serbian government set up a military administration on site, with Shpenadia becoming part of the newly created municipality of Novak .
population
The 2011 census for Shpenadia showed a population of 1168, of which 1089 (93.24%) described themselves as Albanians and 78 (6.68%) as Ashkali and Balkan Egyptians .
religion
The predominant religion is Catholicism , however there are also Muslims in Shpenadia: in 2011, 1,038 people (88.87%) reported being Catholic and 129 people (11.04%) reported being Muslim.

In 1919, 145 inhabitants from 16 Albanian families lived in Shpenadi, twelve of whom were Catholic with a total of 108 people and four were Muslim with a total of 37 people.
In 2003/2004 the mayor named a population of around 1,300, divided between 104 Albanian and six Kosovar-Egyptian families.
economy
In the village there is a bakery, hairdressers, internet cafés, Playland, a doctor, a drinks shop and small grocery stores.
