Caparca ( Albanian  also  Caparcë , Serbian Цапарце Caparce ) is a village in the southwest of Kosovo and belongs to the municipality of Prizren .

geography

location

Caparca is located in the southwest of Kosovo north of the city of Prizren . It is between the R 7 and M-25 autostrada . Neighboring villages are south Shpenadia , south-east Lutogllava and Malësia e Re , north-east Gelanca and on the other side of the highway in the north-west Novaka and in the south-west Velezha .

history

The Kingdom of Serbia conquered Kosovo in the course of the First Balkan War . The kingdom set up a military administration in which Caparca became part of the newly created municipality of Novak . She belonged to the Srez Šar of Okrug Prizren . On January 6, 1929, this administrative division was dissolved, whereupon the area became part of the newly created Vardarska banovina within the Kingdom of Yugoslavia .

ethnicities

The 2011 census showed that 848 people live in Caparca. Of them, 818 (96.46%) were Albanians and 28 (3.30%) were Balkan Egyptians . The remaining 3 people gave no answer regarding their ethnicity.

religion

720 people declared themselves as Muslims , 125 as Roman Catholics and from 3 people there is no answer regarding religion.

In the 1919 census, 19 houses with 104 - all Albanian - residents were recorded in the village . They were divided into 10 Muslim households with 55 residents and 9 Catholic households with 49 residents.
