Billusha ( Albanian  also  Billushë , Serbian Билуша Biluša ) is a village in southwest Kosovo and belongs to the municipality of Prizren .

geography

Billusha, in the southwest of Kosovo, is around ten kilometers east of the border with Albania and around three kilometers west of Prizren . Neighboring towns are Poslishta to the north and Hoça e Qytetit and Jeshkova to the east . The national road M-25 and the Autostrada R 7 run a little north of the village.

climate

In Billusha there is a temperate continental climate with an average annual temperature of 11 ° C and an annual rainfall of almost 900 mm.

history

After the conquest of Kosovo by the Kingdom of Serbia during the First Balkan War in 1912, the Serbian government set up a military administration on site, with Billusha becoming part of the newly created municipality of Hoča Zagradska (today Hoça e Qytetit ). A census carried out in 1919 recorded 104 houses with a total of 574 - exclusively Albanian - residents in Billusha.

The 2011 census showed a population of 1495 for Billusha. 1490 (99.67%) of them identified themselves as Albanians , two as Bosniaks and three people gave no answer regarding their nationality.

In 2011, 1492 of the 1495 inhabitants professed Islam and three people gave no answer regarding their beliefs.
