Sigmar Börner (born July 4, 1932 in Großsedlitz near Dresden ; † January 2, 2010 in Schneverdingen ) was a German television director and editor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Börner studied theater studies at the Free University in Berlin and at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

He began his television career in 1958 with the Sender Freies Berlin . Börner directed programs such as Porcupines , Schlager Competition and the three-part series Visit from Paris with host Dietmar Schönherr and guests such as Jacqueline Boyer , Charles Aznavour and Samy Molcho . In 1961 he moved to the Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hamburg and worked from then on as a director and editor until his retirement in 1997.

Sigmar Börner was the maker of music from Studio B , which under his direction from 1961 to 1971 together with Chris Howland and the six episodes with Peter Fröhlich became Germany's most popular hit show at the time.
