Sitech , as a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, develops and manufactures vehicle seats and seat structure components.

Over 5,400 Sitech employees produce seat sets ("Carsets") and seat structure components for brands of the Volkswagen Group at seven production sites in Germany, Poland and China. A car set includes all the seat equipment for a vehicle, i.e. up to nine seats. The car sets are delivered just-in-sequence - at the right time and in the right order to the customer's production lines.

Sitech also develops seats for vehicles of the Volkswagen Group in close cooperation with Volkswagen , Audi and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles . More than 200 developers cover the entire development spectrum: from pre-development and calculation, construction, cover and foam development to prototype construction and extensive tests through to series support.

history

In 1998, Sitech Sp. Z oo was founded in Polkowice ( Poland ) by Volkswagen AG (49% stake) and KWD GmbH (51%). Production started in Poland a year later. Sitech Sitztechnik GmbH was founded in Wolfsburg in 2000, and production halls were built in the Wolfsburg district of Sandkamp . Three years later, Sitech became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, and a year later, seat production in Emden became part of the company. In addition, another plant for complete seat production was built with a location in Shanghai ( China ). In 2005, the Wolfsburg site opened its own seat development center. Two years later, Sitech took over its fifth location with seat production for VW commercial vehicles in Hanover .
