The Socijaldemokratska Partija Crne Gore (SDP CG) (Montenegrin: Социјалдемократска партија Црне Горе ) is a social democratic party in Montenegro . Its president is Ranko Krivokapić .

history

The party was founded in 1993. Although her election results have only been in the range of 4 to 9 seats since 1998, she played an important role in the politics of Montenegro as Milo Đukanović's junior partner in the coalition for a European Montenegro until 2016 . After the parliamentary election on October 16, 2016 , which did not result in clear majorities, Đukanović resigned as prime minister. He appointed his close confidante and previous deputy Duško Marković as his successor. Since then, the SDP CG has been in opposition.
