Kinima Allagis ( Greek Κίνημα Αλλαγής , movement for change ' , abbreviation: ΚINAL) is a Greek party of the center-left . It was founded in March 2018 as a merger of PASOK , DIMAR , To Potami and some smaller parties.

history

In July 2017, PASOK chairwoman Fofi Gennimata announced the formation of a new united center-left party in Greece. In the summer of 2017, Stavros Theodorakis , founder and chairman of the social liberal party To Potami , decided to join the founding of the party. On November 12, 2017, the first round of elections for the founding chairman of the new party took place, in which first Fofi Gennimata, Stavros Theodorakis, the mayor of Athens, Giorgos Kaminis , Nikos Androulakis , the chairman of the EDEM party, Apostolos Pontas, Konstantinos Gatsios , the former PASOK ministers Giannis Maniatis and Giannis Ragousis as well as Dimitris Tziotis stood as candidates. Gennimata came into the runoff election with 44.5% of the vote and Androulakis with 25.4%, from which Gennimata emerged victorious on November 19 with 56% of the votes.

On November 28, 2017, "Kinima Alagis" was announced as the preliminary name of the party. On December 2, 2017, the six-member executive committee of the party was announced, consisting of Gennimata, Theodorakis, Androulakis, Kaminis, DIMAR leader Thanasis Theocharopoulos and the former PASOK Prime Minister Giorgos Papandreou .

The party held its founding congress on March 16-18, 2018 at the Stadium of Peace and Friendship near Piraeus with around 4,000 participants. During the congress, the new logo was unveiled and the party's political program was adopted by the overwhelming majority of its members.

To Potami resigned from Kinima Allagis on July 1, 2018.
